Early today I decided to go out for a ride. And I didn’t want to ride back heading into the wind so I headed north, all the way to Oklahoma. OK really isn’t that far, 80 miles from Fort Worth. So an hour’s drive if you are keeping pace with the traffic in a 70 MPH zone.
When I got there I was surprised to see a motorcycle parking section; much less bikes parked there. I went inside and immediately was greeted by card tables. I found the black jack tables, watched, then noticed the dealer using a CSM. CSM stands for continuous shuffle machine, which shuffles the last hands cards back into the current deck for play. The reason CSM are used is they stopping card counting completely but at the expense of the casino because the casino’s house edge is reduced because there isn’t a reducing deck. Its like starting each hand with a new deck.
After I watched a while I was amazed by the lack of professionalism of the dealers. I was noticing mistakes of the dealers, which should say something as I’m new to the whole experience. So I started wondering around the casino. Its a themed casino based on cities around the world. But it really goes un-noticed as the 90% of the place seems to be slot machines that don’t follow the city’s/area’s theme.
While in the Bejing area, I found some more card tables and these were shoed games (read: NO CSMachine being used). “Oh wow” I thought, “Why are not using CSMs over here on these higher minimum tables?” I watched until I called the weather phone and realized the temp outside was dropping fast, I went to the restroom put on some more clothes that I packed in a backpack and hauled on home.
