Flaming Powerbook.

It turns out that my 12" Powerbook battery has the same potential as the one above. So the battery is now out of the powerbook and sitting on the Windows computer which has been powered on in weeks (And probably will have FreeNAS installed on it soon.) I would suggest checking out the recall doc listed on U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website. And yes being the quiet Apple whore that I am I’ve already filled out the battery exchange program forms.

Real Content (for a change)

Is been a while since I’ve sat down and wrote to this. I’m incrediably busy these days. I work two jobs which you know but I stopped working at ATC because I didn’t like it there partially due to incompentent managers and in part because they wouldn’t train me to operate a forklift which I want to know how to do. I working even more because I’m wanting to purchase so many new things for my car that I’ve recently purchased.

Its a 1993 Nissan 240SX with the SE trim package.
The good:
Comes with a factory LSD (Limited Slip Differential, commonly open differentials are used in vehicles because they are cheaper to produce but the problem with them is when one tire slips all the power is transferred to that wheel. A limited slip differential transfers more power to the wheel with more traction.), has a 2.4L engine that is torque happy, balanced weight between the front and the rear (great for handling), and its white (living in Texas can blow sometimes in a green car.) Another plus, the insurance for it is only marginally above what the Saturn’s was/is.
The bad:
Small amounts of rust near the sun roof, a couple of body panels that are rattle canned, and what I find most unpleasant… an automatic transmission (soon to be changed, most of the parts are in the garage. I’m in need of a brake pedal and a manual transmission crossmember (holds the transmission off the ground), both of which I see as very important parts))

Back to reality. I’m now working at Michaels warehouse, yes the craftstore place. And yes most people associate the smell of the place with old ladies and moth balls. It is an improvement over ATC on some points and then falls short on others. I now have a pay increase but the climate control is even worse; its geographically to work (logistics company) but I have to be there at at 6AM (yes that is about 2 hours after I get off from UPS.) I get hit on by unattractive gay guys there but they are training me to operate a forklift. If I don’t go psycotic from the lack of sleep after about a year of this I should be promoted at UPS to higher pay and increased hours.

My room mate is weird. He is a 31 year old gay built black guy. Think Robert years ago with dark skin and instead of nose candy his vice is alcohol. Take for example every Sunday night, since I’ve been living there, he has a gathering of people at his house then they proceed to go to S4 and stay out until about 5/6AM. I find this behaviour quite strange. He isn’t too social when he is sober but he insist on talking when he is inhibriated. I’m still a little tramatized from Irby’s party with the older crowd of horny gay guys who beligerantly hit on anything that had a penis attached to it. So I’m a little weary of him.

I seriously damaged my Saturn. I had departed to work when I hit a 60 lbs. dog while I was traveling approximately 35mph. It was early and there was dew on the window, I sprayed the windshield with fuild and at the same moment the brown/black dog darted across my front bumper. Its head cleared my path but nothing else. I suspect I snapped the dogs neck when I hit it. It broke my raditor, A/C condensor, and most of my bumper (it being a Saturn everything is made of plastic.) I took the day off from Michaels so that I could salvage parts from a junk yard and install them on my car. It was not a good day for either of us. This brings to perspective how hitting a cow could be deadly.

I’m going to sleep now. Please keep in mind before posting comments that I wrote this after working about 15 hours with two hours of sleep. Good night.

P.S. The spam filter for the blog is so tight that it moderated my comment that I left a few weeks back.
